Privacy Policy
Sent Together (“we,” “us”) helps missionaries (“goers”) and their supporters (“senders”) stay connected in prayer through a mobile app and related websites. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It reflects current product practices and may be updated after further legal review.
Who is responsible
Sent Together operates the app and websites at senttogether.com. For privacy questions, email privacy@senttogether.com.
Information We Collect
Account and profile
- Email address (required to create and sign in to an account)
- Name, bio, location, and other profile details you choose to provide
- Profile photos (avatars) you upload
- Sign-in is primarily email one-time passcodes (OTP). A limited password sign-in exists for reviewer/test accounts and is not the default path for most users.
Teams, roles, and invites
- Team membership and roles (for example goer/admin side vs sender/member)
- Invite codes used to join a team
- Team settings and affiliation information needed to show the right prayer content
Prayer stories, posts, and media
- Prayer story content you create or personalize (text, scripture, prayer needs, teleprompter cues, and similar)
- Live posts and updates shared with your team
- Photos and videos you upload for stories or posts
- Optional video transcripts generated after upload so captions/accessibility can catch up without blocking the post
- Prayer visit activity within a signed season (including streak/grace state and snooze), not a public leaderboard
Messages
- Messages and related metadata you send or receive with teammates in the app
Seasons and reminders
- Season commitments you set with a team (length, frequency, time, and name)
- Notification preferences and reminder settings
- Push notification tokens and device/platform details needed to deliver reminders when you allow notifications
On-device app lock
If you opt in to Face ID / biometrics for app lock, that preference and unlock stay on your device. We do not receive your biometric data.
Technical and operational data
- Basic device and app information needed to run the service (for example platform and push delivery)
- Server logs and error information used to operate and debug the service
- We do not currently use third-party product analytics SDKs (such as PostHog, Amplitude, or Mixpanel) in the app
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide, maintain, and secure the Sent Together service
- Authenticate you (including sending sign-in codes by email)
- Show prayer stories and posts to the right teammates
- Enable messaging within your teams
- Run seasons, cadence reminders, and optional push notifications
- Generate video transcripts to support captions and accessibility
- Respond to support requests and improve reliability
- Comply with law and protect the service and our users
How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to run the product:
- With members of your Sent Together teams (profile, prayer content, and messages visible according to team roles — see “Who can see your content”)
- With service providers who process data on our behalf, including Supabase (authentication, database, and file storage); Resend (transactional email such as sign-in codes); Expo and Apple/Google push infrastructure (when you enable push); Groq (video transcription for captions); Crossway (ESV API for optional scripture lookup when composing stories); and hosting for our websites (for example Vercel)
- When required by law, or to protect rights, safety, or the integrity of the service
- In connection with a merger, acquisition, or similar business transfer, subject to appropriate safeguards
Who can see your content
Sent Together is built for closed teams: a missionary and the people invited to pray with them. Access follows team membership rules in the product:
- Teammates on your team can see shared prayer stories, posts, and related visit activity for that team
- People on other teams cannot see your team’s content through the app
- Messages: a sender sees their own conversation with the team; goers and admins on that team can read those threads so they can encourage and care for senders. Other senders on the same team do not see each other’s private threads
- Prayer photos and videos in private storage are delivered with short-lived signed links so authorized teammates can open them in the app
Profile photos (avatars) may be served more openly so the product can show who is who.
How we protect messages and prayer content
We want you to know, plainly, how content security works:
- In transit, connections to our service use HTTPS/TLS encryption
- At rest, our database and file storage provider (Supabase) encrypts data on disk with their standard provider encryption
- We do not use end-to-end encryption. Message bodies and prayer content are stored on our servers in a form the service can read — so teammates can see stories, receive messages, and get reminders. People with privileged access to Sent Together or our hosting systems (for example operators maintaining the service) can read that stored content when needed to operate, secure, or support the product
This is ordinary cloud-app protection for a trusted team — not a model where only you hold the keys, and not Signal-style privacy. We prefer honesty here over stronger-sounding claims we cannot keep.
Retention
We keep account, team, prayer, message, and media data while your account is active and as needed to provide the service. If you delete your account, we remove associated account data and tracked media where our deletion tooling applies, subject to backups, legal obligations, and residual copies that may take time to clear.
Your Choices and Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete personal information, and to object to or limit certain processing. You can:
- Update profile details in the app
- Control notification permissions in your device settings and in-app preferences
- Skip Face ID / biometrics app lock
- Request account deletion via senttogether.com/delete-account or by emailing us from the address on your account
- Contact us at privacy@senttogether.com with privacy requests
Children’s Privacy
Sent Together is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
International Users
We may process and store information in the United States and other countries where our providers operate. If you use Sent Together from elsewhere, you understand that your information may be transferred to those locations.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the product changes. We will post the updated version in the app and on senttogether.com and revise the “Last updated” date. Continued use after an update means you acknowledge the revised policy.
